On May 23, 2010 Richard Petty was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame as part of the Inaugural class of 2010. Petty joined Dale Earnhardt, Junior Johnson, Bill France Jr. and Bill France Jr. Each year the five inductees will have some piece of history associated to them featured in the Hall of Honor at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. This piece of history will be on display until the next class of individuals is added. Petty's famous #43 STP Sponsored 1974 Dodge Charger was selected to be featured in his honor. Petty won the 6th of his 7 championships in this car and has noted that this car is considered one of his favorites of all time. Petty also won 200 races and 7 Daytona 500's in his career. This die-cast is based on the car as it is presented in the Hall of Fame.
